Your project isn't moving forward? Costs are rising and the end is no closer than it was at the beginning? You've lost confidence in your vendor? The project has veered off its initial trajectory? Nobody really knows where things are headed anymore? You're torn between continuing, changing approach, or stopping altogether? You'd like to change vendors, but you're worried about the implications?

Maybe you can see the solutions, but it's hard to assess their impact.

With integrated expertise in analysis, design, and development, I evaluate your project from all angles to untangle the situation, identify your options, and help you regain control.

Solutions are often simpler than we imagine.

Looking forward to working with you,

What we do

We'll analyze your situation in depth to identify the causes of the blockage and the options available to you.

Understand the situation

We start by listening and understanding.

  • Project history. How did you get here? What decisions were made? What were the initial objectives? The goal isn't to blame anyone, simply to understand.
  • Symptoms. What exactly isn't working? Delays? Quality? Communication? Budget?
  • Stakeholders. Who is involved? What are the tensions? Who decides what? Who is responsible for delivering features?

Technical audit

We look under the hood to assess the real state of the project.

  • Code and architecture. Is the existing code salvageable? Is it well structured? Are there fundamental problems or just adjustments to make?
  • Documentation. Are there specifications? Are they up to date? Can the project be understood without the people who built it?
  • Infrastructure. How is the application deployed? What system(s) does it interact with? Are there performance, security, or cost issues?

Identifying options

We explore all possible avenues.

  • Continue. Is it possible to get the project back on track? Under what conditions? What changes?
  • Reframe. Should the objectives be revised? Reduce scope? Change technical approach?
  • Start over. Is it better to start from scratch? With what? How to avoid repeating the same mistakes?
  • Transfer. Changing vendors is sometimes an option when we can identify a problem with the vendor/technology combination.

Assessing implications and risks

For each option, we evaluate the implications.

  • Costs. How much does each option cost? In time and internal resources.
  • Risks. What are the risks associated with each avenue?
  • Benefits. What does each option bring you? Short term? Long term?
