Understand the situation
We start by listening and understanding.
- Project history. How did you get here? What decisions were made? What were the initial objectives? The goal isn't to blame anyone, simply to understand.
- Symptoms. What exactly isn't working? Delays? Quality? Communication? Budget?
- Stakeholders. Who is involved? What are the tensions? Who decides what? Who is responsible for delivering features?
Technical audit
We look under the hood to assess the real state of the project.
- Code and architecture. Is the existing code salvageable? Is it well structured? Are there fundamental problems or just adjustments to make?
- Documentation. Are there specifications? Are they up to date? Can the project be understood without the people who built it?
- Infrastructure. How is the application deployed? What system(s) does it interact with? Are there performance, security, or cost issues?
Identifying options
